WHISPER MS PTCA GUIDEWIRE
The HI-TORQUE WHISPER guide wire combines the great distal access of a polymer-covered wire with an innovative technological feature for control and performance. It maneuvers easily, even in complex anatomy, with a soft tip designed to promote safety. Many physicians still use Guide Wire M even after 30 years of the initial stage of TRI. Our portfolio of Coronary Specialty Guide Wires offer solutions for challenging anatomy and lesions, with a range of … HI-TORQUE WHISPER™ MS Guide Wire
Appropriately enough, it truly was a wire used as a guide. But the origin was from the French and Dutch, and their term for the tension wire they used to secure their structures.
The key features to recognise when selecting a guidewire are: (1) tapered tip or not; (2) polymer cover or not; (3) stiffness; and (4) trackability. It is not uncommon to exchange one set of wires for another during a complex procedure, which is done usually through a microcatheter.
WHISPER MS GUIDE WIRE 0.014″ X 190CM, STRAIGHT
- Tip load: 1.0g
- Radiopaque length: 3 cm
- Outside diameter: 0.014″
- Tip Outside diameter: 0.014″
- Coating: Hydrophilic
- Tip style: Core to tip
- Polymer cover: Full Polymer Cover
- Core Material: DURASTEEL Stainless Steel
Guide wires are constructed with a central shaft of stainless steel or nitinol. The shaft tapers to a distal flexible tip spring coil made of platinum or tungsten (see Figure 3). Nitinol core wires are more resistant to kinking than stainless steel core wires but typically have less torque response.
Coronary guide wires are specialized pieces of equipment used to deliver therapies to diseased areas of the coronary arterial system – the vascular pathways responsible for providing the heart muscle with oxygenated blood.
Solid Core Wire: The central wire is encased by a metal ‘spring’ coil. Mandrel Wire: The outer spring coil is at one end. Ribbon Wire: The spring coil encases both the core wire and a ribbon wire.
The guidewire is the device used to guide the catheter into place during CVC insertions. The purpose of a guidewire is to gain access to the blood vessels using a minimally invasive technique.
